I was just trying to write an essay, but facebook kept sucking me in. When is facebook going to become part of the English dictionary, by the way? It’s really annoying getting the red squiggly lines under a word that you know is right and exists… But to return to topic, as I was trying to switch back to pages from safari, I had this mind-blowing moment where I got the thought that when most people are out and about, they’re IN the world. And when they sit down with their computers they kind of check into this other world, of the wide web. Which is a f’ing parallel universe, another dimension – because it’s just as huge as the world, if not bigger! Albert Heijn has GREAT raspberry juice, by the way. Well, anyway, as I was saying, people are usually either in the real world or in the matrix. Although, that’s not entirely true! Because this is where we need to consider the fact that we live in an age where smartphones are very much present. So, as I was thinking about the either in the world or in the web thing, and thought I’d come up with a brilliant thought – I realized that most people are always in the matrix! At least the ones who possess that kind of phone. I guess the difference is how when you’re on a computer you’re actively engaged in something, whereas with the phones you’re mostly just active when there’s a new notification on … FACEBOOK I NEED TO WRITE MY ESSAY
